After several months without Dough-Si-Dough Shoppe, a Carey native is looking to fill the doughnut hole with Glazed Over doughnut shop which is opening Thursday in the former Dough-Si-Dough location, 119 W. Johnson St., in Upper Sandusky.

Wyandot County Public Health reached another major milestone on the road to national accreditation on May 29, 2019, by formally submitting all of their required documentation to the Public Health Accreditation Board. According to Barb Mewhorter, administrator for the Health Department, the process of preparing for accreditation was both challenging and rewarding.

The Wyandot Chamber of Commerce has a new executive director. Amanda Fleming, the former chamber communications manager, will take over the reigns.

KIRBY — Wyandot Memorial Hospital showcased its new mobile unit at Tuesday’s Mayor’s Breakfast at the Blue Room in Kirby. Wyandot Memorial Hospital Chief Executive Officer Ty Shaull said health care is in crisis.

SYCAMORE — Follow-up information on Sycamore’s new junk vehicle ordinance was given at Tuesday’s Sycamore Village Council Meeting. Council member Chris Clinger reported a housing committee meeting was held two weeks ago because the village received several complaints of violations of the new ordinance. Clinger said pictures were taken of the properties and it was determined to have the village solicitor send letters to the property owners, which were delivered by the Wyandot County Sheriff’s Office.

In Ohio, each county soil and water conservation district is governed by a board of five local supervisors. Two supervisors will be elected at the Wyandot Soil and Water Conservation District’s annual banquet Aug. 13 and will serve for three years beginning in January 2020.
