Third Upper Block Rally a success The streets of downtown Upper Sandusky were filled with the sound of children’s’ laughter Friday afternoon for the third annual South Sandusky Block Rally. Mohawk graduate lauded as hero When 2007 Mohawk graduate and Tiffin police officer Justin Nowak was the first on scene at a house fire in the early morning of June 17, he didn’t hesitate to put his life on the line to save another. According to Nowak he was at the station around 2:30 a.m. when a call came out about a house fire at a residence in the 200 block of Wentz Street in Tiffin. The caller said she couldn’t get out of the house, but as she was communicating with dispatch, the connection was lost, because of fast growing fire. Read More
ODOT updates scheduled projects in Wyandot County The Ohio Department of Transportation recently announced the following is highway construction scheduled to occur within Wyandot County. Work is dependent upon weather conditions. U.S. 23 between CH 97 and the U.S. 30 interchange, north of Upper Sandusky, will be restricted to one lane in each direction through the work zone for pavement resurfacing. Variable speed limit signs will be in place to display the legal, posted speed limit through the work zone. Read More
