Two days after Carey raised its flag at the Upper Sandusky Municipal Building, Upper Sandusky fired back by hanging its flag on the Welcome to Carey sign as well as inside the Carey Municipal Building.

Safety blotter: August 22, 2019

Adam D. Hyatt, Carey, was cited for a red light violation on the 300 block of North Sandusky Avenue the early morning of Aug. 17. A caller reported a suspicious man walking near Love’s Travel Mart the morning of Aug. 17. Officers patrolled the area but did not see anyone suspicious.

County farmers, families take the night off at Tuesday event

Wyandot County farmers and their families were given a chance to think about anything but paperwork and the weather Tuesday with a Farmer’s Night Off event in the Masters’ Building at the Wyandot County Fairgrounds. The event, organized by Wyandot County Commissioner Bill Clinger, area crop insurance companies and Pastor Jay Scott, was viewed as a way to give back to area farmers after a devastating amount of spring rainfall caused heavy losses this year.

After a successful day of adoptions Saturday, Lynda Balz, the founder and a volunteer director at the Wyandot County Humane Society, said one third of the 149, turned 152 with newborn puppies, dogs seized from an Upper Sandusky facility have been given new homes through rescues and adoptions.
