Harpster council discusses area road projects HARPSTER — At its October meeting Harpster Village Council discussed upcoming road projects. Mayor Tom McBride said the Ohio Department of Transportation confirmed the paving project on Ohio 294 would include paving all the way up to the railroad tracks. Council passed an ordinance at its September meeting giving ODOT permission to pave in the Harpster Village Limits. The project will be done at no cost to the village and is expected to be completed by the summer of 2020. Read More
Sycamore resident seeks answers in damage to property SYCAMORE — A concerned resident addressed Sycamore Village Council during its regular meeting Tuesday about trucks damaging his property. Don Fillmore said big trucks drove through his back yard recently, leaving several ruts and tire tracks between 10 and 20 feet into his property line. Safety blotter: October 9, 2019 A caller reported a stop sign had been knocked down by farm equipment at the intersection of Chief and South Warpole streets the afternoon of Oct. 7. Contact was made with the driver, who advised he didn’t know he struck the stop sign and had been paying attention to getting around an electrical pole with a tile plow. Nantucket Drive deemed a no parking zone The Upper Sandusky Safety Committee voted to make a portion of Nantucket Drive a no parking zone during Monday’s regular meeting. Kim Graboski, transportation supervisor for Upper Sandusky schools, informed the committee of an issue with large vehicles and vehicles with trailers parking on the cul-de-sac on Nantucket Drive, which was creating accessibility problems for school buses.
