The Ohio Department of Transportation recently announced an updated schedule for highway construction projects within Wyandot County. Work is dependent upon weather conditions and will not take place on Columbus Day, Monday.

In observance of Columbus Day, the Forest-Jackson Public Library, the Dorcas Carey Public Library, the Upper Sandusky Community Library and the Mohawk Community Library will be closed Monday.

Mohawk Historical Society President Kim Mohr spoke at the Wyandot County Museum on Thursday for the second to last of the Thursday Evenings at the Museum programs of the year. Mohr said the Mohawk Historical Society was founded in 1993 when it purchased two buildings.

The Wyandot County Regional Planning Commission will meet at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 17 at the Wyandot County Emergency Medical Services Building. The meeting will discuss a variance request for a proposed 1.355 acre parcel in Sycamore Township.

The Mental Health and Recovery Services Board of Seneca, Sandusky and Wyandot counties administrative committee meeting scheduled for Oct. 21 has been cancelled. The board will meet at 4:30 p.m. Oct. 31 in the Nancy A. Cochran conference room at the board office, 1200 N. Ohio 53, Tiffin.

The Wyandot Tracers Genealogy Society is holding its annual Pioneer Families of Wyandot County recognition banquet at 6 p.m. Oct. 21 at Cheers 2U, 119 N. Sandusky St., Upper Sandusky. A buffet style meal will be served at 6:30 p.m.

Aaron T. Coble, Staley, North Carolina, was cited for reckless operation off the roadway following a private property accident on the 1600 block of East Wyandot Avenue the early morning of Oct. 9. Smyth Janvier, Indianapolis, Indiana, was cited for parking where signs prohibit on Comfort Drive near East Wyandot Avenue the early morning of Oct. 9.

The Star Players Inc. will present the beloved musical production “The Wizard of Oz,” through Sunday at The Star Theatre, 121 W. Wyandot Ave. Show dates and times are 7:30 p.m. today, Friday, Saturday. There will be two matinee performances at 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
