Evan Westbrook enjoys the view from the passenger seat of an Upper Sandusky fire truck Saturday afternoon during the Upper Sandusky Fire Department’s open house. The Wyandot County Sheriff’s Office, Wyandot County EMS, Upper Sandusky Police Department and Life Flight all participated in the Touch-A-Truck portion of the open house.

Police and Sheriff Reports

Officers assisted Wyandot County EMS with a man who fell on the 400 block of Glenhaven Road the early morning of Oct. 11. An officer was dispatched to a disabled vehicle on the 300 block of South Sandusky Avenue the morning of Oct. 11. The vehicle had a broken suspension and it was towed at the owner’s request. An officer performed a K-9 assist for the Ohio State Highway Patrol on U.S. 23 north of Ohio 294 the morning of Oct. 11. Steven R. Yonts Sr., Carey, was cited for manner of angle parking on the 200 block of South Sandusky Avenue the afternoon of Oct.

Certificate of judgment: Midland Funding LLC, San Diego, judgment creditor, vs. Melissa Cook, 326 Kilborn St., Sycamore, judgment debtor.

DC-U welcomes new advertising sales rep.

Strumming up business

The Daily Chief-Union is pleased to welcome recent Findlay resident and Marion native Hannah Schlichting to its team as its advertising sales representative. Schlichting brings a wealth of customer service experience to the position, working most recently for a financial advising firm in a variety of roles including front reception and on the organizational side of the firm. She also has worked in several customer service jobs, both in food and retail, and served for four years as a substitute teacher, which she said has taught her to work independently and to be self-sufficient.

Gov. DeWine reminds Ohioans about new license to fly

COLUMBUS — Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine, Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles Registrar Charles Norman, Transportation Security Administration Ohio Security Director Donald Barker and Columbus Regional Airport Authority President/CEO Joseph Nardone on Friday, reminded travelers that strengthened federal requirements surrounding air travel in the United States go into effect in less than one year.
