Upper Sandusky Mayor Scott Washburn and Carey Mayor Jennifer Rathburn have agreed to terms for their bet for the upcoming Aug. 24 Battle of the Badges charity softball game. Washburn and Rathburn will be opposing managers for the game between the Upper Sandusky police and fire departments and the Carey police and fire departments,. The game is raising money for oncology services at Wyandot Memorial Hospital.

Open Door Resource Center in Upper Sandusky held its School Supplies giveaway Tuesday. ODRC Executive Director Scott Moore said the event helped 100 area families last year and he expected similar numbers this year.

Kyle L. Dawson, Kenton, was cited for failure to control following a one-vehicle crash on Ohio 67 near TH 94 the morning of Aug. 2. A trailer that was being towed suffered disabling damage. An Upper Sandusky man reported theft from a vehicle the afternoon of Aug. 2.
