Drive Sober campaign underway in county, nation-wide

Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over

The national Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign brings fresh awareness annually to the dangers of drunk and impaired driving. The Wyandot County Safe Communities Coalition teamed up with local law enforcement Friday to kick-off the campaign, which continues through Labor Day, Sept. 2, with a booth at the U.S. 23 northbound rest stop between Upper Sandusky and Carey.

Recycling center, waste management district celebrate 30 years

Touch-a-truck

The Wyandot County Solid Waste Management District and Recycling Center celebrated 30 years of service Friday with an open house for the community. Attendees were given a voucher for a free lunch and signed up for door prizes including a toy garbage truck, Speedway gift cards, eco-friendly Nano towels, and a recycled lunch box, among others. Republic services also had a touch-a-truck station in front of the recycling center, where children could sit in the front seat.
