Upper Sandusky Fire Chief Mike MaGinn requested a change be made for dispatching fire calls at the Upper Sandusky Safety Committee meeting Tuesday.

CAREY — Carey Village Council on Monday approved two ordinances as an emergency for asphalt paving projects.

SYCAMORE — Mohawk Local School District welcomes six new teachers ranging from preschool to 10th grade for the 2019-20 school year. They are Danielle Stansbery, Mary Ann Kaple, Mike Haynes, Marissa Bott, Lauren McKinness and Becca McConnell. Both Haynes and McConnell have previous experience with the district.

No injuries were reported after a vehicle was hit by an eastbound train at the Seventh Street railroad crossing in Upper Sandusky just after 7 a.m. Sunday.

TIFFIN — A Sycamore man was arrested by the Seneca County Sheriff’s Office on three charges, including rape, on Thursday.

A caller reported someone panhandling at Walmart the morning of Aug. 29. The responding officer made contact with a Michigan man, who said he was heading to Akron and was trying to get enough money to make the entire trip. The man was off the roadway and was on private property.
