Health board reflects on fair week collaboration At the Wyandot County Board of Health September Meeting, Wyandot County Solid Waste District Coordinator Kyle McColly shared his take on the fair collaboration with the health department. A daily question focused on teaching the public about recycling was asked at the health department’s booth and people who wanted to participate had to speak with representatives at the solid waste district booth to get the answers. Safety blotter: September 19, 2019 An Upper Sandusky man reported suspicious activity on his debit card the afternoon of Sept. 16. Videos from the time the card was used in Tiffin were sent to the police department and the man said he was willing to file charges. An Upper Sandusky man reported his son’s bike as stolen from the 100 block of West Johnson Street the afternoon of Sept. 16. It was an orange Mongoose Alert Mag Wheel mountain bike with 24 inch wheels and seven speeds. The bike was not registered with the department. Community First VP of operations ending career FOREST — Community First Bank N.A. has announced that its vice president of operations/cashier Sharon Haymond will retire next week. Haymond has been with the bank since late 1973, when on a visit to the bank her mom was asked whether her daughter wanted a job. “She, of course, replied YES,” laughed Haymond, and so began a career that spanned many jobs and more than 45 years. Health alliance meets for quarterly update The Wyandot County Health Alliance discussed the latest updates to its agenda at its quarterly meeting Tuesday morning at Wyandot Memorial Hospital. On the topic of mental health, Nicole Williams of the Mental Health and Recovery Services Board reported all schools in Ohio received funding for student wellness and success as part of the annual budget. Upper woman Life Flighted Monday after two-vehicle crash A 19-year-old Upper Sandusky woman was transported by medical helicopter after a two-vehicle crash involving a motorcycle Monday night on Ohio 67 south of Upper Sandusky. According to a Wyandot County Sheriff’s report, at approximately 9:21 p.m. Jacob A. Hill, 17, Sycamore was driving a silver 2012 Jeep northbound on Ohio 67 near TH 108 when he rear-ended a black 2016 Harley Davidson motorcycle driven by Jordynn R. Swartz, 19, Upper Sandusky. Marseilles council authorizes tax levies MARSEILLES — At its September meeting Tuesday, Marseilles Village Council passed a resolution to accept the amounts and rates as determined by the budget commission and authorizing the necessary tax levies and certified them to the county auditor. The council also discussed an Ohio Department of Transportation repaving project for Ohio 67 and Ohio 37 scheduled for next year. Read More
