Wharton man seriously injured in 2-vehicle crash A Wharton man sustained serious injuries and was transported by Med Flight to Saint Rita’s Hospital in Lima, after failing to yield at a stop sign and hitting another car just before 5:30 p.m. Wednesday. Waldemar Weber, 82, was northbound in a Red 2013 GM vehicle on CH 96 approaching the intersection with CH 330 when he failed to yield at a stop sign and struck Nicole Schmuck, 36, Forest, who was westbound on CH 330 in a maroon 1995 Ford F10 series. Wharton Village Council approves paving project WHARTON — Wharton Village Council approved an emergency ordinance at its regular meeting Thursday. The ordinance allowed the state to pave Ohio 293 through the village. Council passed it unanimously. Read More

ODOT announces updates to county highway projects The Ohio Department of Transportation released the following highway construction project updates scheduled to occur within Wyandot County. Work is dependent upon weather conditions. U.S. 23 between CH 97 and the U.S. 30 interchange, north of Upper Sandusky, will be restricted to one lane in each direction through the work zone for pavement resurfacing. Variable speed limit signs will be in place to display the legal, posted speed limit through the work zone. Work is being performed by the Shelly Company, Findlay. Read More
A day of fun For the last 70 years, Fairhaven Community has held visitation days, and for the last 40 a visitation day known as Harvest Fest has been bringing residents and the community together. Safety blotter: September 27, 2019 An Upper Sandusky woman reported a violation of a no-contact order in a domestic violence case, stating a man had texted her, called her from a relative’s phone and contacted her landlord the morning of Sept. 26.
