Business owner: Village reputation affecting sales

FOREST — The owner of a Forest restaurant continued to express her concerns about the negative perception the town has developed. On Wednesday, Jerrie Whitling, owner of the Crazy Lady’s Restaurant and Bar, shared with the Forest CIC her issues with the reputation the village has gotten in the first six months of the year. Whitling said her alcohol sales have declined for the first half of 2019 and she has noticed the comments of her patrons have indicated a concept that the town’s business community is being impacted by the local police force.

Motorcycle vs. semi

An Upper Sandusky man was injured in a motorcycle versus semi truck accident Wednesday afternoon in Upper Sandusky. A police report states William G. Scott, of Upper Sandusky, was riding a motorcycle northbound on North Warpole Street when a semi truck driven by Robert J. Collins, of Dahlonega, Georgia, traveling southbound turned left into Love’s Travel Mart, striking Scott and ejecting him from his motorcycle.

FOREST — Scientists can predict the day, time and location of the total solar eclipse that will block out the sun April 8, 2024. They have identified the epicenter of the celestial event as Forest, Ohio. But what NASA can’t predict is the size of crowd which will make its way to the village to witness it.
