First responders were dispatched to the Ohio 199 exit ramp from U.S. 23/U.S. 30 the afternoon of Aug. 1 for a dump truck versus semi tractor trailer collision.

Sycamore UMC in Sycamore held its annual social Thursday afternoon. The social is held the first Thursday of August each year. Upper Sandusky Police Department Officers were dispatched to the 100 block of Broadview Street the early morning of Aug. 1. The residents of an apartment were given prosecutor referral forms and told to contact the office if they wished to press charges in the future. All parties were told to settle down and warned for disorderly conduct.

TIFFIN — Today, the first of five phases of the Neon Sign Restoration project begins to take shape at the Tiffin Drive-In Theater. Neon Artist, Michael Flechtner, a Tiffin native now living in Los Angeles, will begin installing the left vertical “Star Banner” of the 60 foot by 60 foot neon sign which originally graced the west side of the drive-in theater’s screen in 1949.

CAREY — A ribbon cutting was held on Wednesday for the new Carey Medical and Diagnostic Center at its location, 930 Sheriden Drive in Carey. The new center, a division of the Blanchard Valley Health System, opens Aug. 5.

The Wyandot County Veterans Service Commission discussed how to best inform area veterans about a change at the Wyandot County Fair for 2019. Veterans Day at the fair will be Wednesday during fair week this year instead of Tuesday. Wyandot County Veterans Service Officer Theresa Miller said it is a big deal to get the word out about the move to Wednesday because she didn’t want to see a bunch of veterans showing up Tuesday since that’s when the day had been celebrated in the past.

Harpster United Methodist Church hosted its 39th annual ice cream social Wednesday evening in order to raise money for the church’s apportionments.
