Ohio Northern University orchestras to perform

ADA — The Ohio Northern University Wind Orchestra will present a concert at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 14 in the university’s Freed Center for the Performing Arts. The Wind Orchestra, under the direction of Thomas A. Hunt, Ph.D., will perform a program of standard literature for winds and percussion, including works from Percy Grainger, Gustav Holst, Ralph Vaughan Williams, Samuel Barber and John Williams.

‘Ugly Duckling’ puppet and dance show to be held in Findlay

FINDLAY — The Arts Partnership presents “Lightwire Theater in The Ugly Duckling,” an electroluminescent puppet and dance show at 7 p.m. Oct. 18 at the Marathon Center for the Performing Arts in Findlay. In an age when technology seems to provide many distractions, Lightwire Theater brings together the classic tale of the “The Ugly Duckling” to the modern stage.

Palace staging ‘Tarzan’ in October

MARION — The Marion Palace Theatre, located in downtown Marion, will stage a full-scale musical production of Disney’s “Tarzan” for performances at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 7 and 8 and 2 p.m. Oct. 9. In this adaptation of the Disney film, “Tarzan” tells the moving story of a shipwreck that leaves an infant boy washed up on the shores of West Africa.
