Wyandot County township trustees met with county leaders and ODOT representatives Tuesday at the new EMS building to go over a planning study for the U.S. 23 corridor and other areas of interest in the county.

The Board of Trustees for the Upper Sandusky Community Library has cancelled its monthly meeting scheduled for Feb. 8. There were no action items to be discussed.

Upper Sandusky residents have a new place to get their hair cut. The Wyandot Chamber of Commerce celebrated the opening of a new business, the Hair Mechanyc, with a ribbon cutting ceremony Tuesday morning at 100 S. Warpole St.

A local business celebrated its 20-year anniversary this past Thursday. Dawn Patterson opened Headlines Salon and Spa on Jan. 18, 1998, at 120 E. Walker St., Upper Sandusky, and she’s remained in the same location ever since, expanding in size about three years after opening.

The Wyandot County Board of Developmental Disabilities elected officers on Thursday. Richard Verhoff was elected president, Charlene Latham vice president and Bev Smith was elected secretary.

Ty Shaull, MBA, has been promoted to president and chief executive officer at Wyandot Memorial Hospital. Shaull has worked as the hospital’s chief operating officer since 1998, with lead roles in patient care and safety, provider recruitment and retention and program and business development.

TOLEDO — The Reineke family has announced a partnership with Coleman Sales & Service in Toledo, which is owned by the Chalfin family and has been in business since 1960. “Reineke RV will be a great addition to our current lineup and we look forward to serving RV customers in Northwest Ohio and Southeast Michigan,” Dan Reineke said.

MARSEILLES — Marseilles Village Council approved annual appropriations during its regular meeting Tuesday. Mayor Rick Arnold reported he has contacted the village solicitor regarding properties in the village that need maintenance.

CAREY — The Wyandot County Office of Economic Development introduced three new members Monday during its meeting at Vaughn Industries in Carey. Executive Director Greg Moon announced Upper Sandusky Exempted Village Schools, Quest Federal Credit Union and Fairhaven Community had joined the organization, increasing the group to 45 members, the most in its 10-year existence.

Fitness Elite is under new ownership. Keith and Lana Montgomery purchased the Upper Sandusky gym from friends in mid-December and celebrated the new business with a ribbon-cutting ceremony Monday morning at the gym’s location on 505 W. Wyandot Ave.
