HD: Immunizations part of back to school

The Wyandot County Health Department is reminding parents to consider immunizations as they make appointments in preparation for their children going back to school. The health department offers required immunizations and physical examinations for students before the school year begins, all in one visit.

The following report was prepared and submitted by the Wyandot County Humane Society on July 16 and is correct as of that date: Pets reported as missing since the previous report that have not been found include a spayed female cat that is white with brown on her ears and tail.

Park picnic scheduled

The Wyandot County Council on Aging will host its annual picnic in the park Friday at the white shelter house at Harrison Smith Park. Cornhole and fishing will begin at 11 a.m. and lunch will be served at 11:30 a.m.

Young adult patrons recently took part in a project to tye-dye T-shirts at the Dorcas Carey Public Library. Names of participants were not provided.

Pool party rescheduled

FOREST — The Forest-Jackson Public Library has rescheduled its summer reading program pool and pizza party again due to weather. The event is slated for 11:45 a.m. July 21 in Mount Blanchard.

Genealogy day slated

North Salem Lutheran Church, 12237 TH 44, Upper Sandusky, will host a genealogy day from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday. John Lortz will provide a presentation at 1 p.m. on how to start a genealogy search and will share resources on where to gather information and records.

OLC Choir to be formed

CAREY — The Basilica and National Shrine of Our Lady of Consolation is inviting area singers to join the 2015 assumption choir. The choir, along with a brass quintet, will lead the music for the Vigil Mass of the Assumption at 9:30 p.m. Aug. 14 at the Shrine Park.
