Emergency call issued for blood

TOLEDO — The American Red Cross has issued an emergency call for blood and platelets, urging eligible donors to give to replenish an extremely low summer blood supply. Blood donations have fallen short of hospital needs for the past few months, resulting in about 39,000 fewer donations than what is needed, as well as a significant draw down of the overall Red Cross blood supply, according to a press release from the Red Cross.

Meeting minutes: July 8, 2016

The Wyandot Memorial Hospital Guild recently met with 30 members present. Ashlinn Kip, registered dietician and a Wyandot Memorial Hospital Wellness Center team member, gave an update from on nutrition and fielded questions from the members.

Foundation seeks applications

The Wyandot County Community Foundation is accepting applications for its 2016 grant program. The community foundation will award a number of small grants to Wyandot County 501(c)3 organizations, schools or government units to support their programs.

Schedule set for Old Mission

John Stewart United Methodist Church, which oversees Old Mission Church, has released its July worship schedule at the historic mission. Services are open to the public and take place at 8 a.m. Sundays.

Evelyn Kate Rush

Sarah and Benjamin Rush, of Bucyrus, are the parents of a girl, Evelyn Kate Rush. She was born at 12:40 p.m. Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at Wyandot Memorial Hospital. She weighed 7 pounds, 1.3 ounces and was 20 inches long.

Lennex Cole Lehnhart

Cassie and Jesse Lehnhart, of Upper Sandusky, are the parents of a boy, Lennex Cole Lehnhart. He was born at 6:31 p.m. Saturday, June 25, 2016 at Wyandot Memorial Hospital.
