Visiting professor to address globalization

FINDLAY — Tran Nguyen Khang, a lecturer in the faculty of international relations at Vietnam National University of Social Sciences and Humanities, will speak about globalization’s effects on Vietnam at an upcoming University of Findlay presentation.

Library to close for holiday

The Upper Sandusky Community Library will close at 6 p.m. Nov. 23 and remain closed on Thanksgiving Day. The library’s What’s Cookin’ discussion group will meet at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 28 with guest speaker Tony Weible from Andrew’s Pastries, Marion.

Shelby Huffman and Robert Pennington Jr., both of Upper Sandusky, are the parents of a girl, Lily Rose Pennington. She was born at 5:50 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 29, 2016 at Wyandot Memorial Hospital. Operation Christmas Child returns to county

Operation Christmas Child, a project of Samaritan’s Purse International Relief, will have a drop-off location in Upper Sandusky again this year. From Monday through Nov. 21, volunteers across the U.S. will pack millions of empty shoeboxes into gifts filled with school supplies, hygiene items, notes of encouragement and toys.

Glass scheduled

TIFFIN — The Northwest Ohio Glass Association will host the fourth annual Artistry in American Glass holiday show with 17 national glass dealers this November. Dealers selling mid-century modern, Depression, vintage and antique glass will come together from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday at St. Joseph Activity Center, 54 Melmore St., Tiffin.

Take a Hike at CPD

CRESTLINE — The Crawford Park District will celebrate Take a Hike Day at 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Nov. 17 at Lowe-Volk Park, 2401 Ohio 598, Crestline. Crawford Park District naturalist Lisa Bogard will lead a leisurely stroll through the woods on a late fall day.

The following report was prepared and submitted by the Wyandot County Humane Society on Nov. 3 and is correct as of that date: Pets reported as missing since the previous report that have not been found include a long-hair calico cat with a lot of white on it, an old neutered male black Labrador, a neutered male tiger and white cat, a white male yorkie-poodle mix, a brown brindle young male pit bull, a female tiger cat and an older tan Lab.
