A local effort is underway to collect fire relief items to be delivered to Gatlinburg, Tennessee, on Dec. 21. All household items are needed, as well as cleaning, personal hygiene and baby supplies, hats, gloves, coats, clothes and socks in all sizes.

American Legion Auxiliary Post No. 225 President Sharon Huffman called to order the American Legion Auxiliary Post No. 225 Christmas meeting at Stone Crossing Golf Club, where members ate.

The Wyandot County Council on Aging is taking reservations for those without the ability to go on their own to see the Upper Sandusky Fantasy of Lights. Anyone 60 years or older now can make a reservation to be taken to the Fantasy of Lights on Thursday, Dec. 15 or Dec. 22.

A recent Red Cross bloodmobile at the Elks Lodge in Upper Sandusky collected a total of 51 units of blood with a goal of 47.

Briana Digby and Clayton Hare were recognized as Riverdale’s high school and middle school students of the month, respectively, for November during a recent meeting of the school board. Not pictured but also recognized were elementary students of the month Brody Berger and Maddison Dick.

Local students graduate from Kent State KENT — Three area residents were among more than 1,600 students who received bachelor’s, master’s, doctoral, associate and educational specialist degrees during Kent State’s 2016 summer commencement ceremony. Local students who graduated were Ian Batton, Carey; Kelli Ciola, LaRue; and Jenna Cory, Bucyrus.
