Gatlinburg donations to be accepted

A local effort is underway to collect fire relief items to be delivered to Gatlinburg, Tennessee, on Dec. 21. All household items are needed, as well as cleaning, personal hygiene and baby supplies, hats, gloves, coats, clothes and socks in all sizes.

Birds of prey to visit parks

CRESTLINE — Ohio has many species of raptors, some year-round resident and others passing through. The Crawford Park District will host a program on Ohio’s raptors at 6 p.m. Dec. 15 at Lowe-Volk Park, 2401 Ohio 598, Crestline.

Riverdale November students

Briana Digby and Clayton Hare were recognized as Riverdale’s high school and middle school students of the month, respectively, for November during a recent meeting of the school board. Not pictured but also recognized were elementary students of the month Brody Berger and Maddison Dick.

Local students graduate from Kent State KENT — Three area residents were among more than 1,600 students who received bachelor’s, master’s, doctoral, associate and educational specialist degrees during Kent State’s 2016 summer commencement ceremony. Local students who graduated were Ian Batton, Carey; Kelli Ciola, LaRue; and Jenna Cory, Bucyrus.
