The 21st annual Upper’s Winter Fantasy of Lights is set for Dec. 1 through Dec. 30 with a Fantasy Walk scheduled for Nov. 30 to kick off the 30-day event. The 2017 charitable recipient is Dorcas Carey Public Library and the feature display is “Arose Such a Ladder” sponsored by Upper Sandusky’s Fire Department.

TIFFIN — Tiffin area residents will join the fight to end Alzheimer’s disease at the Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s Oct. 7. In 2016, the Walk in Tiffin raised over $76,000 contributing to more than $76 million raised nationwide for care, support and research efforts for those impacted by Alzheimer's.

The Union-Salem United Methodist Church will host Living Water, a bluegrass-style gospel music group, at 10 a.m. Oct. 8. The public is invited and a luncheon will be served after the program.

FOREST — Forest-Jackson Public Library will host “Cut the Craft” at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Thursday. Adults and teens are invited to make a needle felted wool essential oil pendant.

General Surgeon Peter Schuler, M.D., will provide free vein screenings from 9 a.m. to noon Oct. 4 and 18. The screenings will include a brief varicose vein risk factor questionnaire and consultation with Dr. Schuler.

The Wyandot County Archaeological and Historical Society is hosting “Thursday Evening at the Museum” at 7 p.m. Thursday. The special guest will be Andy Voorhies of the Boy Scouts and Eagle Scouts of Wyandot County.

The September meeting of the Tri Sigma Sorority took place at the home of Betty Martin. Martin presented the program for the evening on the hobby of quilting.

The students and staff at Our Lady of Consolation School in Carey raised $700 for the people in Orange, Texas, who are recovering from Hurricane Harvey.
