SYCAMORE — The Sycamore Lions Club and the Mohawk Lioness Club shared a joint project to provide decorative flower pots for the Sycamore downtown area. The Lions Club obtained permission from village officials to place the pots and support from the businesses who received the planters to provide watering during the summer.

The Ohio Department of Health recently made its unannounced annual inspection at Wyandot County Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and there were zero deficiencies in any area of direct care delivery.

BUCYRUS — The Crawford Park District has announced upcoming events. Night Hike-Fireflies is 8:30 p.m. Saturday at Lowe-Volk Park, 2401 Ohio 598.

The following report was prepared and submitted by the Wyandot County Humane Society on Monday and is correct as of that date. Pets reported as missing since the last report that have not been found include a silver and black male husky, a brown male cocker spaniel that is very old and a tan and white male rottweiler.

Hard-working, dedicated Angeline volunteers worked with Wyandot County Public Health each week over the past two years filling food bags for YUM!, a food bag distribution program that provided weekend food supplements to students in multiple Wyandot County schools.

FINDLAY — The Well, a free, Christian-based, weeklong summer theology institute for rising 10th-12th grade students who are interested in learning more about their faith, and how it intersects with and informs other aspects of their lives, including career choice, will be held July 8-13 at the University of Findlay.

BUCYRUS — Due to a lower than anticipated response seeking candidates for the 2018 Bratwurst Festival Queen’s Pageant, the Bratwurst Festival Inc. Board of Directors has extended the deadline for applications to be postmarked by Wednesday.

Come enjoy music and fun as the Lortz family plays violins at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Upper Sandusky Community Library. All ages are invited to this free program.

CAREY — The Basilica and National Shrine of Our Lady of Consolation, Carey, continues to focus this year on the theme of “Consolation.” Father Jim Sichko will be the guest celebrant and preacher at the 5:30 pm. June 30 Mass and the 8 a.m., 10 a.m. and noon Mass July 1. Father Sichko will share his reflections on consolation. 

Each year during income tax season, the Bucyrus and Upper Sandusky offices of Mizick Miller & Company holds Saturday “dress down” days. The cost to the staff to “dress down” is a donation to a nonprofit organization the staff has collectively chosen.
