With the opiate crisis running rampant, families are looking for ways to help those they love who need treatment. Getting them into treatment becomes even harder if their loved one is not willing. This is when intervention can become key.

Interested bicycle riders are asked to meet at 6:15 p.m. Wednesday at Bud’s Bicycle Shop in Upper Sandusky for the weekly group bike ride. All riders must wear a helmet.

The June 14, 2018, meeting of the Wyandot County Senior Citizens Club was held at the Senior Center in Upper Sandusky with 23 members and one guest present for the potluck dinner. Sue Miller led the Pledge of Allegiance and Norman Folk led the group in prayer before the meal.

CAREY — The Dorcas Carey Public Library is hosting a community scavenger hunt during the months of June and July. Stop in at the library to pick up a list of participating businesses.

FOREST — The Forest-Jackson Public Library will be giving away Cedar Point tickets to a lucky adult patron. Anyone who is interested can visit the library today through June 30 to receive an entry ticket for each item that is checked out.

FOREST — The 2018 Tree Town Festival, to be held July 6, 7 and 8 in Gormley Park, Forest, Ohio, has announced the event’s royalty candidates. This year’s festival will include one queen, one king, one princess, one prince and four baby candidates.

MARION — United Church Homes and its cornerstone campus, Fairhaven Community, recently received honors during a luncheon and awards ceremony for its outstanding achievement and excellence by the Alber Enterprise Center at the Ohio State University at Marion.

CAREY — The Soil and Water Conservation of Wyandot County will present “The Wind Beneath Our Wings” program at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Dorcas Carey Public Library. Angie Ford will highlight the many different adaptations of Birds of Prey.
