Final bake sale of year this weekend at OLC

CAREY – The Father Paul Volunteer Bakery at Our Lady of Consolation will have its final spring bake sale today and Sunday. Apple, pumpkin and Dutch apple pies will be sold at a special price. Other pies will include rhubarb, cherry, strawberry/rhubarb, grape and blackberry.

Our Lady of Consolation seventh grade student Cayman Crim (right) is congratulated by Principal Brian Gerber. She reached the 1000 Point Accelerated Reader milestone and is the first OLC student to accomplish this monumental task.

Free hearing screenings offered at WMH on Thursday

Audiologist Courtney Thiel will provide free hearing screenings for individuals 60 and above 9-11:30 a.m. and 2-4:30 p.m. Thursday and May 31 at Wyandot Memorial Hospital. Appointments are required for the free screenings. The first 20 callers to schedule will receive a complimentary Beca House Coffee Co. beverage.

Meeting minutes: May 17, 2019

President Sandy Hemmerly opened the April 29 Wyandot Memorial Hospital Guild meeting with poem “Drinking from my Saucer.” Twenty nine members were present for the annual tea. The speaker for the program was Dr. Craig Eldridge, M.D.J.D. who recently joined the hospital. He discussed his career paths and change of pathways from lawyer to a doctor. He was motivational with emphasis on doing what you want to do, and the diligence to do what is best for you. Eldridge, a family practice physician, is welcoming new patients of all ages.

ASHLAND — The following students completed their Ashland University degree requirements following the spring 2019 semester: Haley Leeth, of Sycamore, received a Bachelor of Science in nursing during Ashland University’s spring 2019 commencement ceremonies May 4, 2019. Leeth majored in nursing and is a 2015 graduate of Mohawk High School.
