HHWP offering cooling assistance to select homes

The HHWP Community Action Commission will help income-eligible Ohioans stay cool during the hot summer months. The Home Energy Assistance Summer Crisis Program runs from July 1 until Aug. 31. The Summer Crisis Program provides assistance to low-income households with an elderly member (60 years or older), or households that can provide physician documentation that cooling assistance is needed for a household member’s health.

The Dorcas Carey Public Library congratulates Tucker Hohman for reading 1.000 books before kindergarten. The library offers the 1,000 books before kindergarten reading program for newborns up to school age.

Forest library coloring contest starts Wednesday

FOREST — Those who love to color and draw are invited to stop by the Forest-Jackson Public Library for a coloring contest starting Wednesday and continuing through July 26. The contest is for children in pre-kindergarten through fifth grade and coloring pages are available for pick up at the library starting Wednesday.

Hidden Gems Garden Tour returns to Tiffin on June 30

TIFFIN — After a hiatus of several years, the Tiffin Historic Trust is once again offering a summer garden tour. From noon to 5 p.m. June 30, visit 11 floral and vegetable gardens that range from historic to old-fashioned; from serene to whimsical; from extensive and various to a raised-bed enclosure. Visitors may be surprised to discover many colorful varieties of lilies, perennials and even an iron chicken and a mermaid.

The following report was prepared and submitted by the Wyandot County Humane Society on Monday and is correct as of that date. Pets reported as missing since the last report that have not been found include a brown and white female spaniel mix, a black and tan neutered male German shepherd, a gray male cat, an older black and white male chihuahua, a small female tiger cat, a neutered male bengal mix cat, a long hair black lab-chow mix, a male tiger and white cat, a brindle female boxer and a cream color male cockapoo.
