BUCYRUS — David Pepper, chairman of the Ohio Democratic Party, will be the featured speaker at the Crawford County Democrats’ fall ox roast Oct. 11 at the Conservation League, 3477 Ohio 98, with a social time at 6 p.m. and dinner at 6:30 p.m.

FINDLAY — The second of two 2018 flights of Flag City Honor Flight, the Findlay based hub of the National Honor Flight Network, will occur Tuesday. Seventy-nine veterans plus their guardians will journey to Washington, D.C., to visit the war memorials, including over 20 World War II veterans.

The Sept. 12 meeting of the Wyandot County PERI Chapter No. 88 was called to order by President Ruth Reier in the Wyandot Memorial Hospital Bowen-Kirkland room. The Lords’ Prayer and Pledge of Allegiance was said in unison. There were 15 members and one guest present.

Gerry and Carol (Arnold) Leeth, of Upper Sandusky, are celebrating their 50th anniversary today. The couple was married Sept. 28, 1968, at Marseilles Presbyterian Church.

The Salem United Methodist Church on Mifflin TH 96 is celebrating its 150th anniversary at 10 a.m. Sunday followed by a potluck at noon. It is meant to be a time of fellowship, music, and prayer.

TOLEDO — As the American Red Cross responds to Hurricane Florence, providing food, shelter and comfort to those affected, individuals outside the affected areas are urged to help by giving blood or platelets to care for patients in the storm’s path and across the country.

Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary District 10 will host its first ever Family Freedom Festival from 12-3 p.m. Oct. 13 at Harrison Smith Park in Upper Sandusky. The free event is family friendly and will feature food, music, games and more.

MARION — The Marion Technical College Board of Trustees welcomes Kit Fogle as its newest member. Fogle, a lifelong Marion County resident, currently serves as a senior vice president for Merrill Lynch.
