Pets reported as missing since the last report that have not been found include a recently spayed white and orange calico cat, a white fluffy dog with black spots on face and ears, a honey color dog with white chest and paws, a white short hair dog with a black and brown patch over its eye, and a neutered male yellow tiger cat.

MARION — United Way of North Central Ohio serving Crawford, Marion and Wyandot Counties is hosting its 2019 Campaign Coordinator Luncheon on Thursday, Aug. 29 at Whirlpool in Marion. United Way Campaign Coordinators are a critical link between United Way and workplace fundraising campaigns. Campaign Coordinators help share United Way’s mission to improve lives and connect colleagues with volunteer and charitable giving opportunities that provide vital services to individuals and families in Crawford, Marion, and Wyandot Counties.

The Alzheimer’s Association Northwest Ohio Chapter will hold an educational program on the topic of effective communication strategies for families, friends and anyone impacted by the disease. The hour-long event is 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Wyandot County Council on Aging, 127 S. Sandusky St., in Upper Sandusky.

GALION — The Friends of The Big Four Depot is sponsoring its first Train Show and Swap Meet from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 24 at the St. Joseph Activity Center, 115 N. Liberty St., Galion. The show will feature all gauge types with Railaoma, models, models supplies, scenery boods, moves and items that will help in the railroad hobby.

TOLEDO — To help address the current emergency blood shortage, all who come to give blood or platelets with the American Red Cross July 29 through Aug. 29 will receive a $5 Amazon.com Gift Card via email. Currently, the Red Cross has less than a three-day supply of most blood types available and less than a two-day supply of type O blood.

Lucille Schwilk, a daughter of Danita and Chad Schwilk, has completed the 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten program at the Upper Sandusky Community Library. Lucille started the the program Sept. 8, 2018, and completed it July 20, 2019.

Farmers and their families in Wyandot County are invited to take the night off from the worry and stress of the farm from 6-9 p.m. Tuesday in the Masters’ Building at the Wyandot County Fairgrounds. The event, hosted by the Wyandot County Farm Bureau, was made possible thanks to local agriculture businesses and sponsors.
