USCL hosting ‘Kids can Cook’ on Tuesday

Students in grades K-5 are invited to sign up for a popular hour-long children’s cooking program at the Upper Sandusky Community Library. Due to popular demand, the program will be offered two times at 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. Oct. 17. Space is limited and registration, which begins Oct. 3, is required. Cheryl Lyon and Jill Stansbery will teach basic cooking skills, share fun food facts and more in a fun learning environment.

Family Day at the OLC Shrine on Sunday

The Basilica and National Shrine of Our Lady of Consolation, in Carey, continues the tradition of its annual Family Day on Sept. 29. Pastoral care and offering assistance to families to grow in faith together has always been a priority. The Conventual Franciscan Friars at Our Lady of Consolation have celebrated this special day for decades.

Gracie Thomas Faulkner, Plymouth, is the mother of a son. Remy Alexander was born at 3:04 p.m. Sept. 3, 2019, in Tiffin. He was weighed 6 pounds, 3 ounces and was 19 inches long. The maternal grandparents are Derek and Deborah Thomas Page, of Brunswick, Georgia.

Banjo Hall Of Famer to perform Thursday

MELMORE — The Mohawk Historical Society is pleased to announce that 2012 Banjo Hall of Fame inductee Glenn Parks will take to the stage of the historic 1910 Melmore Town Hall at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 26, 2019. The event is free and the general public is cordially invited to attend. Glenn will deliver a high energy, crowd engaging performance. Come prepared to sing along!

Blood drive today at John Stewart
