CAREY — Carey school board members toured a new athletic facility adjacent to the school following a regular meeting Monday night. The facility includes locker rooms, ticket and concessions booths, a weight room, a fitness area and a second level with additional storage space.

An Upper Sandusky man was injured in a fight outside Rosebud Tavern early Saturday morning. Upper Sandusky Police Chief David Olds said officers responded to a report of two individuals fighting outside the bar at about 3:10 a.m. Saturday.

BUCYRUS — Upper Sandusky had seven individual champions and ran away with the team title in the Northern 10 Athletic Conference junior high wrestling tournament Saturday at Bucyrus. The Rams scored 185 points for their second junior high N10 wrestling title, with Mohawk placing second with 139.5 points.

The Drink and Deli drive-thru, 612 N. Warpole St., was broken into for the second time in just more than a month early Saturday morning. Two masked suspects caught on video surveillance, forced entry by prying open a garage door at the business, according to Upper Sandusky Police Officer Jordan Breece.

Upper Sandusky’s boys and girls each qualified for districts in seven events Saturday during the sectional swim meet at the Lima YMCA. As a team, the Rams boys finished third with 263 points.

The Upper Sandusky boys basketball team is champion of the Northern 10 Athletic Conference for the second straight year, and on Saturday night, the Rams looked like the No. 2 team in the state. Mohawk was rattled into 20 first-half turnovers and 29 overall as Upper Sandusky ran away with an 80-44 victory.

BUCYRUS — Wynford rode a hot shooting start to a wire-to-wire, 74-44 victory over Seneca East in a Northern 10 Athletic Conference boys basketball game Saturday. Jack Reed led all scorers with 18 points, and Zach Hoffman hit five 3-pointers and scored 17 points.

TIFFIN — The Ramirez and Hill families lost everything except for the clothes on their backs when a Jan. 9 fire gutted their Seneca County home. Three of the five children — a 10-year-old girl and 9-year-old twin boys, who lived in the home are students at Mohawk Elementary.

BUCYRUS — Wynford was able to keep Abigail Fogle and Upper Sandusky under control for a quarter before the sharpshooter did what she maybe does best — put the game out of reach.
