County to save big on electric

Wyandot County will save nearly $60,000 on its electric bill over the next three years after the county commissioners signed a new facilities electric agreement Thursday. Working through Palmer Energy Company, it was recommended the county sign with the electric supplier Dynegy Energy through May of 2021 at a rate of $0.0471 per kWh, with an estimated annual cost savings of $19,970 compared to the county’s current rate, which expires at the end of April.

Lee scholarship reaches monetary goal

Robby Lee will now be able to help children forever. Ron Pool, spokesman for the Robert P. Lee Memorial Scholarship Fund, announced Wednesday that the fund had acquired endowed status through the Wyandot County Community Foundation after reaching its initial fundraising goal of $25,000.

With Mohawk making a run in the fourth quarter, one play helped Upper Sandusky hold on. Mason Vent came up with a loose ball and dished inside for a Jevon Dible layup that helped stop the Warriors’ momentum as the Rams took over second place in the Northern 10 Athletic Conference with a 66-52 victory Saturday.
