The Wyandot County Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center staff, family members, friends and residents celebrated a recent positive inspection from the Ohio Department of Health with a party on Friday. The inspection found zero deficiencies in any area of direct care delivery.

Wyandot County takes part in the Parade of Athletes during the opening ceremonies of the Special Olympics Summer Games on Friday evening at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium.

CAREY — A groundbreaking ceremony was held Thursday afternoon for the new Blanchard Valley Health Systems medical facility in Carey. The $7 million project will replace the current doctor’s office in Carey where Dr. Troy Puckett sees patients.

Bonnie Wolfe is hosting the annual art exhibit of her students from 2-4 p.m. Sunday at her studio, located at 10627 CH 91, Upper Sandusky. This year’s exhibit, featuring the art of 40 students and will include inks, oils, watercolors and acrylics.

Special Olympics Ohio provides its athletes many opportunities every year but the Summer Games weekend is what most athletes enjoy the most. Wyandot County will send 38 athletes to Columbus to compete in six sports at the event Friday through Sunday.

Kalmbach Feeds Inc. celebrated its new bulk feed plant with an open house for clients, sponsors and area community members on Thursday. The Ruth Elizabeth Kalmbach (REK) Facility, named after the matriarch of the company, is located on CH 44 between U.S. 23 and Ohio 199.

Proudly displayed behind the cash register at Woods Antiques ‘N More in Upper Sandusky is a baseball bat engraved “Best Sponsors in Baseball.” The bat was awarded to Janice and Irv Woods by coach Andy Shepherd’s team of kindergartners through second graders following the 2017 season.
