BUCYRUS — It was one of the largest single-inning comebacks Wynford baseball coach Jordan Oliver has seen in his two years as coach of the Royals, but they will have to wait for the final result. Trailing Mohawk by five runs entering the bottom of the seventh inning of Wednesday’s contest at Wynford High School, the Royals scored five runs and took advantage of two Mohawk errors to tie the game at 9, but neither team was able to score again.

BUCYRUS — Once Autumn Buder finally came through with a clutch hit, Mohawk’s bats awoke, and it ran away with a 9-1 victory at Wynford in Northern 10 Athletic Conference softball play Wednesday. With the game tied at 1 in the fifth inning and runners at second and third with two outs, Buder delivered a two-run triple to the left field fence.

After 61 years of business in Marion, Verne Hart Insurance expanded for the first time with its Upper Sandusky location this past month. It celebrated the expansion with a ribbon cutting ceremony and a special open house this past Thursday, offering coffee and pastries in the morning and brisket and pulled pork from The Corner Inn for lunch to anyone that stopped by.

The Wyandot County Pheasants Forever conservation organization presented a $500 donation to the Seneca County Opportunity Center (SCOC) Tuesday at the SCOC facility. Terry Reinhart, a prominent member of WCPF, passed away suddenly this past fall and one of his family’s donation requests was to SCOC.

A kids BB gun range was one of many attractions Saturday for the St. Peter School Fest Field Day event held at the Wyandot County Sportsman Club. The event featured a gun raffle, a still shoot competition, a sporting goods raffle and a visit from local wildlife like turtles.
