The 2019 Wyandot County Junior Fair King and Queen and runners up were named at the 2019 Wyandot County Junior Fair King and Queen Pageant and coronation Tuesday.

For friends and 4EverKids Clover Bud members Lucy Fagan, 7, and Olivia Vent, 6, the junior culinary contests were hard work and friendly competition. Both Vent and Fagan saw their projects through to the end by participating in the baked goods auction Tuesday afternoon at the Wyandot County Fair.

MOUNT BLANCHARD — Looking to hold on to a comfortable 28-point lead over Hardin Northern going into halftime at home, Riverdale gave up a 33-yard passing touchdown with just four seconds to go in the half. The touchdown swayed momentum toward the Polar Bears, who scored 14 unanswered points in the second half, but the Riverdale defense buckled down and held on for the 28-20 non-conference victory on Friday.

SYCAMORE — Mohawk Local School District welcomes six new teachers ranging from preschool to 10th grade for the 2019-20 school year. They are Danielle Stansbery, Mary Ann Kaple, Mike Haynes, Marissa Bott, Lauren McKinness and Becca McConnell. Both Haynes and McConnell have previous experience with the district.
