A community legacy: Upper pool lessons span generations The name Jean Moon has nearly become synonymous with the Upper Sandusky Community Pool and swimming lessons. Moon recalls that the pool was built and opened in 1941, but said she didn’t take lessons the first year it was open, as it was only open part of the time. Instead she taught herself some of the basics of swimming. Then, in 1942, when she was 12 years old, she began taking lessons with Antoinette Lowery and George Rieser. Read More
Overland Inn now staffed and open regularly The Wyandot County Historical Society has added new staff for the summer. Sarah E. Hunt, 26, of Delaware, was hired as the new Overland Inn Curator, which will allow the historical McCutchenville site to return to its regular hours for the first time in nearly two years. Read More

New Riverdale girls basketball coach loves being around youth MOUNT BLANCHARD — The many titles that new Riverdale girls basketball coach Mickie Bonham has held over the years exemplify her love of being around children. She has been a coach. Bonham coached junior high girls basketball at Riverdale from 2004-2012 and for two years alongside Randy Baker at Arcadia while she was a student teacher in 1999 and then in 2000. Read More

Some athletes switching sports for this year’s Special Olympics Summer Games While Wyandot County will only send one new athlete to the Special Olympics State Summer Games this weekend, several things will be different.
