Mohawk rolls again with sweep of Carey

Blocking an attempted spike

CAREY — Mohawk junior setter Alexa Konkle, after a bump was hit her way, looked like she was going to set the ball for an outside hitter, but instead, hit it over the middle of the net for a kill. Four plays later, sophomore middle hitter Paityn Clouse slid behind Konkle, who set the ball, from the right side. After Konkle’s set, Clouse’s kill gave the Warriors a 12-point second-set lead.

Mohawk won a convincing first two sets and then had to take a decisive fifth set after Buckeye Central rallied Monday night, but the Warriors were able to pull out a 25-22, 25-15, 21-25, 23-25, 15-5 victory to give the Buckettes their first loss in three years and avenge their only loss this year.
