Due to lack of a quorum, the Board of Trustees of the Upper Sandusky Community Library will not meet today. The next meeting is July 11.

The Wyandot County Regional Planning Commission scheduled for June 20 has been cancelled. At this time there are no pre-application guidance or variance issues to present to the RPC board. After several months without Dough-Si-Dough Shoppe, a Carey native is looking to fill the doughnut hole with Glazed Over doughnut shop which is opening Thursday in the former Dough-Si-Dough location, 119 W. Johnson St., in Upper Sandusky.

Wyandot County Public Health reached another major milestone on the road to national accreditation on May 29, 2019, by formally submitting all of their required documentation to the Public Health Accreditation Board. According to Barb Mewhorter, administrator for the Health Department, the process of preparing for accreditation was both challenging and rewarding.

The Wyandot Chamber of Commerce has a new executive director. Amanda Fleming, the former chamber communications manager, will take over the reigns.

The sound of the approaching train grows louder and the noise from the bar lessens. Patrons look out the windows, where now all that is visible are train cars speeding past on the tracks right outside the front door. It’s not hard to understand why this place, which suddenly seems to be in a different era, has been beloved and maintained for a century and a half.

Tammy Groves, of Upper Sandusky, has been promoted to senior director of human resources at Wyandot Memorial Hospital. Groves is responsible for all aspects of personnel management, including the new hire employment process and wage and salary administration. She coordinates staff performance reviews, and assists with orientation, retention and discipline. She also manages the human resource generalist, makes assignments to the communications secretary and oversees the hospital’s volunteer program.

CAREY — A new speech therapy center is coming to Carey. Speaking-Listening-Connecting Speech-Language Pathology Center will serve patients in Wyandot, Hardin, Hancock and Seneca, and will focus on a primary market of youths ages 18 months to 21 years old and adults on a case-by-case basis.
