COLUMBUS – Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose recently announced 9,935 new entities filed to do business in Ohio in June. With nearly 70,000 new business entities created in the first six months, Ohio is almost 3,000 filings ahead of last year’s record-setting pace.

Bridgestone celebrated the 20-year anniversary of plant 3 in Upper Sandusky on Thursday with a plant tour for local community leaders and a ceremony for its workers. Plant Manager John Vanderpool explained that plant 3 is part of Bridgestone’s diversified products. Bridgestone has two plants in Upper Sandusky, plant 3 is part of the Foam Products Division while plant 2 is Anti-Vibration Division products.

COLUMBUS — InnovateOhio and the Governor’s Office of Workforce Transformation recently announced the launch of a new survey tool for Ohio businesses to gather feedback ahead of the creation of the state’s new In-Demand Jobs List. Lt. Governor Jon Husted serves as the Director of both initiatives.

Lorain-Medina Rural Electric and North Central Electric have selected Shannon Ketvertes as the new director of communications for both cooperatives. Ketvertes, who earned a degree in broadcast journalism and communications from Cleveland State University, has successfully managed a marketing consulting business since 2013, helping small businesses and entrepreneurs with marketing and branding services.

The Mental Health and Recovery Services Board of Seneca, Sandusky and Wyandot counties does not have a regularly scheduled meeting in July. The next board meeting is 4:30 p.m. Aug. 29 at the Mental Health and Recovery Services Board building, 1200 N. Ohio 53, Tiffin.

The Wynford Local School District Board of Education meeting that was scheduled for Wednesday, has been cancelled. The next regular Wynford Local School District Board of Education meeting is 5:30 p.m. Aug. 8 in the high school media center.

COLUMBUS — Auditor of State Keith Faber recently announced Wyandot Memorial Hospital was among the entities to receive the Auditor of State Award for their clean audit reports. The Auditor’s office presents the Auditor of State Award to local governments and school districts upon the completion of a financial audit.
