Power outage
American Electric Power workers try to fix a power pole head that burnt off near the intersection of TH 122 and CH 51 around 5:35 this morning. AEP said 94 customers were without power, including businesses on East Wyandot Avenue east of the U.S. 30 junction. A pole fire was the reported cause of the outage.

Struggling homeowners negotiate with lenders
COLUMBUS (AP) - John King lost his job four years ago due to a heart condition, but the mortgage payments on his home keep rising. So the 58-year-old from Reynoldsburg showed up at a foreclosure fair Sunday to meet his lender face-to-face. By the time he went home, his monthly mortgage bill was $400 cheaper.
"This allows me to do what I need to do to get back on my feet," he said.
Hundreds of Ohioans, armed with papers detailing their financial troubles, showed up at a suburban Columbus hotel for a workshop aimed at producing King's good fortune.
The "Homeownership Preservation Forums" are sponsored by HOPE NOW, a collaboration of nonprofit, corporate and government partners, including the Housing and Urban Development.
But for some, King said, the workshop was too little, too late.

Remains of Ohio soldier missing since '04 found in Iraq
BATAVIA (AP) - Sgt. Keith Matthew Maupin's parents vowed never to let the U.S. Army forget about finding their son.
Their efforts included trips to the Pentagon and even meeting with President Bush, but they ended in disappointment Sunday: An Army general told them the remains of Maupin, a soldier who had been listed as missing-captured in Iraq since 2004, had been found.
"My heart sinks, but I know they can't hurt him anymore," Keith Maupin said after receiving word about the remains of his son, who went by Matt.
The Army did not say how or where in Iraq his son's remains were discovered, only that the identification was made with DNA testing, Maupin said. A shirt similar to the one his son was wearing at the time of his disappearance also was found.
