There is a lot of work ahead, but Monday night was about sharing food, stories and ideals.
A full house gathered at Woody's Restaurant for the annual Lincoln Day dinner.
A number of Republican officials spoke during the dinner but U.S. Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Urbana) of the Fourth Congressional District was the keynote speaker.
He joked with the audience about coming to the dinner, despite there being two congressmen there, Jordan and U.S. Rep. Bob Latta (R-Bowling Green) of the Fifth Congressional District.
"Anyone know what the approval rating of Congress is?" Jordan said. "Fourteen percent. Just the fact you're willing to hang out with us is a bold step."
Jordan said the country is at a critical juncture.
