Carey baseball sign-ups slated to be Sunday
CAREY - Carey Youth Baseball sign-ups will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at the Dorcas Carey Public Library.
The program is for children ages 9-12. A player must be 9 before May 1 and may not be 13 before May 1. The fee is $25 and is due at sign-up. A late fee of $15 will be charged after this date.

USHS seeking head coach for cross country
Upper Sandusky High School is searching for a head cross country coach for the 2008-09 school year.
Candidates should submit a letter of interest and resume to Brad Ehrman, Upper Sandusky High School, 800 N. Sandusky Ave., Upper Sandusky OH 43351 or by e-mail to brad_e@treca.org.
The application deadline is March 28.
Cheerleading clinic to be held next week
There will be a cheerleading clinic and cheerleading tryouts for all girls going into fourth, fifth and sixth grade next week in the Union Middle School gymnasium.
The clinic is scheduled for 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, while the tryouts will begin at 6 p.m. Thursday.
Each cheerleader will be responsible for the purchase of shoes, kick pants, socks and hair bow.
Each cheerleader also will be responsible to help with the fundraiser. The funds earned this year will help purchase additional uniforms, if that becomes necessary, and to help with fees associated with participating at events throughout the season.
Kenton hosting youth tourney
KENTON - Kenton Little League is hosting a 9-10 and 11-12 year old baseball tournament on April 25-27.
Teams will be guaranteed three games during the tournament. There will be a maximum of 14 teams allowed entry into the tournament. The entry fee is $150 per team.
Teams for the 9-to 10-year old league are to be made up of no more than 15 players who will not turn 11 years old before May 1. Teams for the 11-12-year old league are not to be made up of no more than 15 players who will not turn 15 before the same date. There are no exceptions. Trophies will be awarded to first-through third-place finishers.
The tournament draw is at 1 p.m. April 20 at Home Run Memorial Park Complex. Entry fee and registration forms are required by the day of the draw.
Spots in the tournament will be guaranteed by phone.

League forming seeks golfers
HARPSTER - Individuals are needed for a forming golf league on Monday nights at Hickory Grove Golf Club.
A final organizational meeting will be held at the club at 5:30 p.m. April 14.
