Over the years, many area residents have become passionate about an annual play put on at St. Mary Chapel in Kirby.
The annual Passion Play will be performed Sunday at Transfiguration of the Lord Catholic Church and March 21 at St. Mary Chapel.
Before the event Sunday, the St. Joseph Table will be open for anyone who would like to enjoy a free meal. The dinner will begin at 6 p.m. in the St. Peter's School gymnasium and the play will begin at 8 p.m. at the church. Prelude music will begin at 7:30 p.m.
The dinner was started as an event to feed the hungry and poor, with parishioners providing dishes to share and the church providing the main entrée.

700 series
Becky Hill, Upper Sandusky, recently bowled a 700 series at Wyandot Lanes, setting a new career high. She also twice came close to scoring her first ever 300 game.

Hill reaches milestone

Becky Hill is one of Upper Sandusky's top women bowlers, but two weeks ago, she put together a series that even she never had approached before.
The Women's Invitational runner-up a year ago, Hill bowled a 707 series in the Friday Night League while playing for The Barbershop at Wyandot Lanes.
The score was 53 pins higher than her previous career best series of 654.
"I was relaxed," Hill said. "I was in no rush. I'm just glad it happened the way it did."

Bowlers reach tourney semifinal
After a snow-filled weekend, the second round of the Women's Invitational finally was completed earlier this week, and four bowlers are slated to compete in the final round of competition this weekend.
Betty Koons led the way with a 1,270 six-game score in the handicapped event. Also advancing were Heather Hansen (1,219), Deb Mason (1,204) and Audra Webb (1,193).
Koons and Mason are slated to go head to head in a three-game series at 1 p.m. Saturday, as are Hansen and Webb. The winners meet for the championship at 1 p.m. Sunday, and the losers will play for third place at the same time.
Rachael Harding finished with a 1,186 in competition this week, being edged out by seven pins for the last spot. Also failing to advance were Stacy Walton (1,148), Barb Morris (1,078) and Shelly Slavey (1,074).
