Carey baseball sign-ups to be held Saturday
CAREY - Carey Youth Baseball sign-ups will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at Dorcas Carey Public Library.
The program is for children ages 9-12. A player must be nine before May 1 and may not be 13 before May 1. The fee is $25 and is due at sign-up. A late fee of $15 will be charged after this date.
For more information, contact Eric Miller at 419-788-0207. Those interested in registering must contact the above number if unable to attend the sign-up to avoid the late fee.
USHS seeking head coach for cross country
Upper Sandusky High School is searching for a head cross country coach for the 2008-09 school year.
Candidates should submit a letter of interest and resume to Brad Ehrman, Upper Sandusky High School, 800 N. Sandusky Ave., Upper Sandusky OH 43351 or by e-mail to brad_e@treca.org.
The application deadline is March 28.
Union having cheerleading clinic next week
There will be a cheerleading clinic and cheerleading tryouts for all girls going into fourth, fifth and sixth grade next week in the Union Middle School gymnasium.
The clinic is scheduled for 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, while the tryouts will begin at 6 p.m. Thursday.
Each cheerleader will be responsible for the purchase of shoes, kick pants, socks and hair bow.
Each cheerleader also will be responsible to help with the fundraiser. The funds earned this year will help purchase additional uniforms, if that becomes necessary, and to help with fees associated with participating at events throughout the season.
Wooster hoops camp for girls slated for June
WOOSTER - The Wooster Basketball Camp for Girls at the College of Wooster now is taking registration for two camp sessions in June for students in fourth through 12th grades.
The first session is slated for June 15-18, and the second session is scheduled for July 13-16.

MAL manual update ready
The Midland Athletic League boys and girls basketball record manual will be available for purchase at the MAL-Blanchard Valley Conference all-star game at Arcadia High School on Sunday.
The manual includes all statistics, scores, coaching records and more since the league’s inception in 1985, including all the information from the 2007-08 season that was just completed.
The cost of the manual is $14.
For those who already have purchased a manual, they can bring their copies to the game and it can be updated for $1 for the first year and 50 cents for each additional year that needs to be updated.
For those who are not attending the game and would like to get a copy, they can mail a check for $17 - $14 for the manual and $3 for postage - to Jeffrey Garber, PO Box 303, Sycamore OH 44882.
Those who need an update for their present manual can contact Garber at 419-927-6446 to make arrangements.
