
MAL record manual on sale at All-Star game
The Midland Athletic League boys and girls basketball record manual will be available for purchase at the MAL-Blanchard Valley Conference all-star game at Arcadia High School on Sunday.
The manual includes all statistics, scores, coaching records and more since the league’s inception in 1985, including all the information from the 2007-08 season that was just completed.
The cost of the manual is $14.
For those who already have purchased a manual, they can bring their copies to the game and it can be updated for $1 for the first year and 50 cents for each additional year that needs to be updated.
For those who are not attending the game and would like to get a copy, they can mail a check for $17 - $14 for the manual and $3 for postage - to Jeffrey Garber, PO Box 303, Sycamore OH 44882.
Those who need an update for their present manual can contact Garber at 419-927-6446 to make arrangements.
NW Ohio AAU boys team to have tryouts
FREMONT - The Northwest Ohio Orangemen traveling AAU basketball team will be holding tryouts for boys in ninth to 11th grade from 2-5 p.m. March 30 at the Fremont Recreation Center, Fremont.
Players must bring an extra pair of shoes or they will not be allowed to try out. For more information, contact coach Brandon Gabel at 419-559-3779.
Wooster Camp for Girls slated during summer
WOOSTER - The Wooster Basketball Camp for Girls at the College of Wooster now is taking registration for two camp sessions in June for students in fourth through 12th grades.
The first session is slated for June 15-18, and the second session is scheduled for July 13-16.

Kenton hosting Little League baseball event
KENTON - Kenton Little League is hosting a 9-10 and 11-12 year old baseball tournament on April 25-27.
Teams will be guaranteed three games during the tournament. There will be a maximum of 14 teams allowed entry into the tournament. The entry fee is $150 per team.
Teams for the 9-to 10-year old league are to be made up of no more than 15 players who will not turn 11 years old before May 1. Teams for the 11-12-year old league are not to be made up of no more than 15 players who will not turn 15 before the same date. There are no exceptions.
Trophies will be awarded to first-through third-place finishers.
The tournament draw is at 1 p.m. April 20 at Home Run Memorial Park Complex. Entry fee and registration forms are required by the day of the draw.
Spots in the tournament will be guaranteed by phone.
