SYCAMORE -
Voters turned out and said no to Mohawk Local School District for the fourth time, leaving the school district searching for answers as it seeks more funding.
The five year, .5-percent income tax levy for general operating expenses failed by an overall 1,311 to 1,131 margin, according to unofficial results, with it failing in both Seneca and Crawford counties.
In Wyandot County, 527 (53 percent) were for the issue, while 466 (47 percent) were against it.
The news of the levy's failure came as a disappointment to Superintendent Sam Martin.
"It gets monotonous having it fail time after time," Martin said. '... As I listened to the news this morning, there are many, many schools across the state that have the same kind of problem as we have today.

MOUNT BLANCHARD -
The line stretched out the office door at Riverdale High School would make one think tickets were being offered for a popular musician or a special appearance by a well-known sports star.
But this was not the case Tuesday morning.
Instead, fans of the Riverdale girls basketball team came out in droves to purchase tickets for its upcoming Division III state semifinal basketball game against Sugarcreek Garaway at the Schottenstein Center in Columbus.
There was a line of nearly 20 people waiting for tickets to go on sale before 8 a.m. in the main office.

Working through traffic
Riverdale senior Kristi Kotterman (22) is just one of the many scoring threats opponents have to worry about on the Falcons' roster. Kotterman has averaged 9.7 points per game for the state-bound Falcons.

MOUNT BLANCHARD -
Many teams rely on one player to carry the scoring load, but not Riverdale. The Falcons have thrived this season with multiple scorers.
Kayla Brown paces Riverdale's offense with a 14-point per game average, but all four of Riverdale's other starters score between 6 and 12 points per game, and the Falcons now go nine deep with players capable of putting the ball in the basket.
'It's a good team to be on because no matter who is hot, we all still appreciate each other," senior forward Allysha Wells said.
