Slippery conditions
The snowfall over the last week has caused several accidents in Wyandot County, including one Thursday morning involving a truck that came to a rest on its side. Pictured are Upper Sandusky EMTs treating Shae Culver, the driver of the vehicle. According to a report from the Bucyrus Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Culver, 26, was driving northbound on U.S. 23 at an unsafe speed for the conditions when she lost control and went off the left side of the road. She struck a guardrail, spun off the road and the vehicle rolled onto its side. Culver was cited for operating a vehicle without reasonable control. She was taken to Wyandot Memorial Hospital, where she was treated and released.

COLUMBUS -
After a disappointing finish last year, Mohawk senior Brock Kirian knew coming into the Division III state wrestling tournament he would have to come out of the gates strong and be the aggressor if he would achieve his goal of becoming a state champion.
He did just that in his first match against Clarksville Clinton-Massie sophomore Corby Running, as Kirian (43-3) took control midway through the first period in their 189-pound opening round match and went on to score an 11-3 decision to move on to the championship quarterfinals today.

Big challenge awaits Riverdale in regional championship game

LEXINGTON -
The Riverdale girls basketball team has one final "big" challenge standing between it and a spot in the state tournament.
The Falcons battle with Fredericktown, a team featuring three starters 5-10 and bigger, in the Division III regional championship game at Lexington High School on Saturday.
"(Fredericktown) is good," Riverdale coach Maryann Holderman said. "They're physical. We're going to have to come ready to play. We're two different styles of play, and it'll be interesting to see how we match up. It's going to come down to who executes their style the best."
