While his victim and her family lived with pain of being raped, Charles Artressia went on with his life and had a family.
Wyandot County Common Pleas Judge Kate Aubry said Tuesday afternoon that the Artressia’s freedom has been enjoyed for more than a dozen years while the family has been in a mental prison.
"He victimized this lady and his life went on," Aubry said in court. "He had children. He attended school. ... While his life went on, his victim continued to suffer from the emotional effects of the crime until the day she died. She had a family that loved her and they (will see) justice."
Artressia, who plead guilty to rape and aggravated burglary in connection with a 1995 incident, was sentenced to 10 to 25 years on each count under the old sentencing guidelines.

Upper Sandusky senior Arin Neely does not need any extra motivation in this weekend’s state wrestling tournament, but he has it anyway.
The few things Neely (34-4) knows about his first-round opponent, Adam Walters (44-5) of West Geauga, he does not like.
"I have found out that his mascot is the Wolverine and he’s yellow and blue and I hate that," Neely said.
Neely (152 pounds) reached the Division II state tournament by placing fourth this weekend at the district meet at Fostoria High School. He is the first Upper Sandusky wrestler to reach the state tournament since Trey Vince in 2003.
Clare Aubry
Aubry named to NOL 1st team; 2 other Rams honored on 2nd team
Before heading north to continue her basketball career at the University of Toledo, Upper Sandusky senior Clare Aubry is collecting one of the Northern Ohio League’s top honors as she was named a first team selection on the recently released all-league girls’ basketball team.
She is one of three Rams who were all-NOL selections, as senior Rebecca Gamby and junior Alex Plott both were second team selections.
Aubry wrapped up her senior season leading the league in scoring, averaging 20.8 points per game. She sunk 89.3 percent of her free throws, going 109 of 122 from the line, and made nearly 50 percent of her shots from 2-point range.
