Leaving a legacy
Upper Sandusky High School cheerleading coach Jenny Heilman embraces USHS athletic director Brad Ehrman after Heilman was presented a plaque for her contribution to the USHS cheerleading program. Heilman is stepping down at the end of the school year from her position as cheerleading coach to spend more time with her family, which will include a new addition set to arrive in June.

Jenny Heilman's passion for the sport of cheerleading has been evident during her tenure as Upper Sandusky High School's cheerleading coach.
But after 11 years of guiding the Rams' cheer squads, Heilman will be stepping aside from coaching at the end of this school year to spend more time with family, which will include a new addition who is set to arrive in June.
Even then, it was a tough decision for the long-time coach to make.
"It's sad to be leaving," said Heilman, who will give birth to her second child this summer.

Healthy changes requested for Riverdale lunches
By LONNIE McMILLAN
Sports editor
MOUNT BLANCHARD -
Norma Herzog spoke Monday night at the Riverdale Board of Education meeting about changes she would like to see in the district's school lunches.
Herzog said many districts now are offering healthy alternatives for students, but for the most part, Riverdale students only have one option on the menu.
"It seems to be to the point where something needs to be done," she said.
She came with a complete research report of what other area districts offer, and many of them have multiple healthy options every single day. She said the districts do not need any extra cafeteria help to make it happen, and students in those districts buy lunches more often than in districts with less options.
