A special prosecutor was approved by the Wyandot County Commissioners on Monday. After an executive session with Wyandot County Prosecuting Attorney Jonathan Miller, the commissioners appointed Derek DeVine to handle a case.
Miller requested that be done for a specific case, Commissioner Joyce Morehart said.
No more information about the case was available.
The commissioners approved raising dog license fees by $2 and dog kennel fees by $10, effective Dec. 1.
The current fees are $10 and $50, respectively.
The commissioners accepted the resignation of Wyandot County Recycling Center employee Jenny Beis.
They received a report from the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services. It included information such as the family participation rate in the Ohio Work Force from July 2006 to June 2007 and the number of children receiving publicly-funded child daycare services from January to June 2007 and related costs.

Riverdale hears from ING representative at board meeting
By BRANDON DRAKE
Staff writer

MOUNT BLANCHARD - A representative from ING informed the Riverdale Local Schools Board of Education during a special meeting Monday night about legislative changes that are happening to 403(b) retirement plans.
Janet Schoolcraft said the changes being administered to the 403(b), which is a tax deferred retirement plan available to employees of educational institutions and non-profit organizations, will require increased responsibility in the school district for monitoring contributions and investments.
"There's some changes out there, and I'm sure most of you are familiar with the 403(b), which is like a 401(k) in the school world," Schoolcraft said. "And the IRS in their gracious way has decided to make some major changes to the 403(b) plans. ... Now what they're doing is reaching back to the 403(b) and said we're going to make it better, which means in (Riverdale treasurer Jodie Ribley's) world, it's going to be a bigger pain."
