CAREY - When Codi Rehus' hand was extended high into the air by an official
after his match against Carey's Shaun Donnelly, it was a triumphant moment forthe Van Buren senior.
An ordinary feat for most, but one Rehus never experienced before Saturday
evening.
"It feels really good," said Rehus, 17, who was born with a rare condition called mosaic trisomy, a chromosomal disorder.
Behind a chorus of cheers from coaches, fans, teammates and other wrestlers,
Rehus' dream of winning a contested wrestling match finally came true. He pinned Donnelly in the third round of
their 145-pound match at the Carey Classic - his fifth and final match of a marathon day of wrestling. Rehus also
was named the most valuable wrestler of the tournament.

Bush sends Congress $3
trillion budget with big
increases fordefense and
big deficits
WASHINGTON (AP) - President Bush is sending Congress a $3 trillion spending blueprint that would provide a big boost
to defense and protect his signature tax cuts. It seeks sizable savings in government health care programs
and puts the squeeze on much of the rest of government, but it still would generate near-record budget deficits over the next two years.
Democrats attacked Bush's final spending plan as a continuation of what they contend are seven years of failed policies by the Bush administration.
"Today's budget bears all the hallmarks of the Bush legacy - it leads to more deficits, more debt, more tax cuts, more cutbacks in critical services," said House Budget Committee Chairman John Spratt, D-S.C.
For his last budget, Bush stopped the practice of providing 3,000 paper copies of the budget to members of Congress and the media as a moneysaving measure. Democrats joked thatBush had run out of red ink.
"We have seen this script before.
