A jury has returned a verdict of guilty in a case against Sycamore resident Juan Saldana, 53, after he was charged with felonious assault, a second-degree felony, in Wyandot County Common Pleas Court.
Saldana faces two to eight years in prison and a maximum fine of $15,000.
Wyandot County Prosecuting Attorney Jonathan Miller thanked the jury for its service.
"This was a violent crime involving a knife, which we cannot tolerate in Wyandot County," Miller said. "Mr. Saldana has a prior felony record for drug trafficking, a prior misdemeanor record for negligent assault, domestic violence and now a conviction for felonious assault."
