Comfort Inn, located at 105 Comfort Drive, Upper Sandusky, recently received the 2007 Platinum Hospitality Award from Choice Hotels International. Comfort Inn receives one of Choice Hotels highest honors for exceeding standards
A local hotel recently received a big honor, as the Comfort Inn, Upper Sandusky, was given the 2007 Platinum Hospitality Award from Choice Hotels International, one of the world's largest lodging franchises.
The award is one of the highest honors a Choice Hotels property can receive, as recipient properties meet the highest standards of customer service, housekeeping and product quality.
The Upper Sandusky location earned this award because it met several key thresholds that are important to achieving guest satisfaction. The hotel scored high marks for cleanliness and property maintenance, had a low ratio of guest complaints, they had no more than one unresponsive guest complaint on record for the past year and the hotel met or exceeded Comfort Inn's standards and fulfilled the promises of Comfort Inn to consumers.

Carey DECA to kick off Heart Health Month at Carey-Mohawk game Friday
CAREY - The Carey DECA Chapter will kick off its public relations chapter project for the 2007-08 academic year with an event taking place during the Carey-Mohawk boys basketball game Friday.
The chapter is observing February as Heart Health Month with the theme "Get with the Beat,' which identifies the heart health element, along with distinguishing Carey DECA's segment of the campaign.
In cooperation with the American Heart Association, Carey DECA hopes to create a sense of urgency about the essence of quality lifestyles for a person's heart and body.
Carey DECA adviser Derek Cunningham said the message is one for people of all ages.
"I want to challenge the student bodies of both schools to turn out, wear their shirts, support their teams and enjoy the game,' he said. "The American Heart Association is a great organization for us to work with because their mission of health hearts is really a message for everyone, young and old alike.'

Chad Shellhouse
Shellhouse earns top achievement in Boy Scouts
McCUTCHENVILLE - Chad Shellhouse, a member of McCutchenville Boy Scout Troop No. 400, has earned the Eagle Scout award, scouting's highest achievement.
A son of Don and Wendy Shellhouse, he currently is a freshman at Mohawk High School.
He is a grandson of Joan Shellhouse and the late Harold Shellhouse; and Rita Hossler and the late Keith Hossler.
For his Eagle Scout project, Shellhouse led the renovation of bleachers at the McCutchenville ball field. This consisted of replacing deteriorated concrete block supports and foot boards and installing a safety railing around the back. In addition, Shellhouse renovated the foul posts with yellow paint, making them more visible.
The project took 37 hours of planning and more than 231 participation hours from his helpers.
He raised more than $2,250 to complete the project.
