Fashionably warm
Tiffany Brause, a Wyandot County Humane Society shelter worker, holds Sylvester the cat, who enjoys wearing sweaters. In the wintertime, a sweater can help keep an animal warm on walks, if the animal will wear it.
Pets want to stay warm too

Humans like to stay warm during the winter, and so do their pets.
Pet owners need to make sure their animals are not negatively affected by the weather.
Cats and dogs should not be kept outside for long periods of time in cold weather.
"If it's 3 degrees and you wouldn't want to be outside, your animals probably don't want to be outside, either," said Roberta Hiner, administrator of the Wyandot County Humane Society.
When they are outside, they must have access to fresh water that is not frozen at all times.
"You have to be very vigilant because you've got to replace it very often," Hiner said.

Specifications needed for handicapped-accessible ramp for Wyandot County Sheriff's Office
By LAUREN SCHLOSSER
Staff writer
Getting specifications is the next step in obtaining a handicapped-accessible ramp for the Wyandot County Sheriff's Office.
The Wyandot County Commissioners signed a contract with Rooney Clinger Murray Architects Inc. on Thursday. RCM will put together specifications and send them back to the commissioners, commissioner Ed Kuenzli said.
Kuenzli said the commissioners will contact the Wyandot County Engineer's Office to ask if someone will survey a lot of county-owned land on CH 47 to get an exact description of it before it is sold.
The commissioners signed an agreement with Commercial Savings Bank stating it will hold the health savings accounts for county employees who elect to have them.

Blue Devils hold of St. Joseph in overtime
FREMONT - Hopes of winning or earning a share of the Midland Athletic League title nearly ended Thursday evening for Carey's boys basketball team, as it needed overtime to come away with a 60-57 victory against Fremont St. Joseph.
The Blue Devils (8-5, 5-1 MAL) trailed early, but used a 25-point third quarter to take a three-point lead heading into the final quarter. However, the Crimson Streaks (3-12, 2-5 MAL) overcame the small deficit and forced overtime. In the extra period, Carey outscored Fremont St. Joseph, 9-6, to earn the win.
